Funky Fish Family Fun Day

Bring the family along and make a day of it. We encourage family fishing participation however if fishing is not for you, then we still have plenty of reasons for you to come along and support the Whangarei Heads School & Community Library.

For The Kids

Purchase a $10 wrist band for kids and they’ll get access to ALL of the Funky Fishing Competiton kids activities including bouncy castles, crafts, games and activities. PLUS they’ll each recieve a sausage and drink!

The Funky Fishing Competition is for kids, too. Children are eligible to buy a Nipper Ticket (up to 9 years old) or a Junior Ticket (10-15 year old). There are a wide range of categories for you to enter and heaps of spot prizes just for you, so you could win something even if you don’t catch a fish! Just make sure you are present at the prize giving to collect your prize.

Kids Fish Categories- Snapper, Kahawai, Trevally, John Dory, Sprat.

Funky Fishing is a family competition & fun event and we always have heaps of activities for kids. After the family returns from fishing to the weigh-in festival site at Taurikura Bay, there will be lots to do.
